CutMath is a free set of woodworking calculators for the math before a cut: cutting layouts, board feet, wood movement, stair stringers. Every movement and hardness figure for its 100 species is taken from the USDA Forest Products Laboratory's Wood Handbook, which is public domain.

Bold Puzzles is a free collection of large-print word searches, sudoku, solitaire and trivia made for older adults and anyone reading with low vision. Words in its grids never run backwards, on the stated view that reversed words frustrate more than they challenge.

TallyChef is a set of free calculators for the numbers a restaurant runs on — plate cost, menu price, prime cost, tip splits — built for independent operators. Its argument is that formulas taught in any hospitality course shouldn't sit behind a subscription — no account, no export paywall.

ShelfYears is a shelf-life reference for the non-food things in a garage or cleaning cupboard — fuels, paints, pool chemicals, the helmet on the hook. Every window cites a manufacturer document or SDS section and the day it was checked, and says whether using it late is harmless or a safety issue.

Zumper is a rental marketplace for apartments and houses across the US and Canada. Every month it distills over a million active listings into a National Rent Report, which is where much of the press gets the median rent figure it quotes.

FeederDates gives put-out and take-down dates for hummingbird, oriole and suet feeders in all 50 US states. It says plainly that neither Journey North nor eBird publishes a put-out date, and that its windows are its own reading of their arrival data.

CanningDates turns a US ZIP code into the altitude adjustments a tested canning recipe assumes the cook already knows — minutes for a water bath, pounds for a pressure canner. It refuses to extrapolate: past the last row of the USDA table it says so and points to a county extension office.

BBQ Math is a set of calculators for feeding a crowd — how much brisket to buy, when to light the smoker, how much beer and ice to have on hand. Every figure runs through one chain shown in the open — guests × cooked portion ÷ yield — so the trim-and-shrink step most charts skip stays on the page.

BetterHelp matches people with a licensed therapist and keeps the whole relationship online, by message, phone or video. Teladoc Health bought the company in 2015 for $3.5 million in cash, and the network has since grown to more than 31,000 therapists.

Poolsuite is an internet radio station streaming a permanent 1980s summer — disco, yacht rock and Miami synths — through an interface built as a vintage Macintosh desktop. It began as Poolside FM in 2014 and has kept the bit running, VHS grain and all, ever since.
