Poolsuite
Poolsuite is an internet radio station streaming a permanent 1980s summer — disco, yacht rock and Miami synths — through an interface built as a vintage Macintosh desktop. It began as Poolside FM in 2014 and has kept the bit running, VHS grain and all, ever since.
Why it earned its spot
The whole site is a committed piece of interface cosplay: cream Mac windows on a flat pink desktop, pixel chrome, a draggable player, sun-bleached VHS footage looping in its own little TV window. What makes it more than a nostalgia gag is the craft — the windows genuinely work, the type is period-correct, and the palette’s washed-out warmth is tuned like a photograph filter rather than slapped on. Design as world-building: you don’t visit Poolsuite for information, you visit to be somewhere.
