Ableton
Ableton makes Live and Push, the software and hardware a huge share of electronic music is produced on. The Berlin company treats its website with the same Bauhaus restraint as its instruments — its interactive Learning Synths course is a small masterpiece of explaining sound in the browser.
Why it earned its spot
Flat planes of uncompromising color, Futura-adjacent type, and photography of people actually making music — Ableton’s site reads like a Swiss poster that learned to scroll. There are almost no gradients, shadows or rounded corners anywhere; hierarchy comes entirely from scale and color blocking, which is a brave way to sell a technical product. It works because the restraint mirrors the instrument: the design stays out of the way and lets the material speak.
