HuntDates tells US hunters which seasons are open today, counting down, or closed in their state, across deer, turkey, duck, dove and elk. Every date is transcribed from the state wildlife agency's own regulations and linked back to it; the site calls itself a calendar, not the law.
Why it earned its spot
A stencilled display face, the kind stamped on ammo crates, sets the headings against a cream field, and the state picker is a grid of deep forest chips with two-letter codes sized large enough to scan at arm’s length. Colour does real work here: blaze orange means a season is open today, amber is a countdown, and a chip gone dark is closed — a rule the page states plainly rather than leaving to inference. Below the picker the reference shelf is set as plain prose with links inline, which keeps shooting hours, license years and straight-wall cartridge rules reading like a conversation instead of a sitemap.
