SchoolStartDates tracks first days, breaks and last days for the 2026–27 school year across 125 of the largest US school districts. Districts that haven't adopted a 2026–27 calendar yet say so rather than carrying last year's dates forward, and every date names and links the calendar it came from.
Why it earned its spot
A cream page, a mustard rule under the wordmark, and little else: the homepage is a stack of sections labelled with small tab-like chips, each opening onto three columns of underlined links. District names carry their start date in grey at the right, so the twelve largest systems read as a table without being drawn as one, and the state block below compresses to a line per state with a district count. Hierarchy comes from those tabs and hairline rules rather than weight or scale — restraint that suits a parent looking up one date and leaving.
