FleaDates works out when flea and tick season actually starts where a dog owner lives, from a ZIP code or a state. The dates come from NOAA 1991–2020 climate normals, and the site is careful to say that a calendar is no reason to pause year-round prevention.
Why it earned its spot
A single narrow column on warm cream, set in a rounded geometric sans, with a two-color scheme — collar red and deep hunter green — carrying the paw wordmark, the fetch button and the footer. The signature element is the season ring: a twelve-segment donut colored from winter blue through amber to peak red, with a dot marking the month the reader is standing in, which turns a year of temperature data into one glance. Torn-edge panels separate the calendar from the dog-owner calculators, and the year-round prevention caveat sits in an outlined green box directly beneath the ZIP form rather than buried in a footnote.
