Bold Puzzles is a free collection of large-print word searches, sudoku, solitaire and trivia made for older adults and anyone reading with low vision. Words in its grids never run backwards, on the stated view that reversed words frustrate more than they challenge.
Why it earned its spot
A warm off-white ground with one deep navy for headings, links and the single filled button means nothing on the page competes with the puzzle grids themselves. Body copy starts at 18 pixels, and the three stepped A buttons and the high-contrast toggle sit in the top right of every page rather than inside a settings menu. The 42 themes are grouped into seven cards, each carrying a plain descriptive sentence about the sewing basket or an afternoon with the grandchildren instead of a bare tag cloud. Underlined links and generous line spacing keep the long explanatory passages easy to track.
