Notion
Notion is the all-in-one workspace — docs, wikis, databases and now a fleet of AI agents — that replaced a stack of separate tools for millions of teams. Its hand-drawn monochrome figures did more to define the last decade's software illustration style than any brand guide.
Why it earned its spot
The famous ink-line characters survived the AI pivot: they peer over the hero screenshot and line up as a row of drawn faces in candy-colored circles, humanizing a page that is otherwise big black grotesque headlines and dense product UI. The layout stays paper-white and disciplined so the doodles read as marginalia rather than decoration, and the customer stories get a bold duotone treatment that would feel loud anywhere else. A decade in, the drawings still do the strategic work — making an ever-more-corporate tool feel domestic.
