healow
healow is where patients book appointments, read their medical records and join video visits with their own doctors. Run by eClinicalWorks, it is the patient side of that company's EHR, so signing up starts with a practice code handed over by the doctor's office.
Why it earned its spot
The page opens on a pale aqua band and then drops into white, with a single search field centered in a lot of empty space — one task per screenful, which suits a visitor who arrived to do one thing. Three labelled tabs across the top split the whole product into Book an Appointment, View Your Health Record and Join a Televisit, so the choice is made before any scrolling starts. Type is a rounded geometric sans in near-navy, set large, with pill buttons and generous tap targets. The four-step setup strip and the hairline-ruled FAQ accordion at the foot stay deliberately plain, with nothing illustrated competing against the instructions.
