AlloCovid answers the COVID questions people still ask — when isolation ends, whether an old test kit still works, how much is going around — with a date or a number, not an article. Every number is quoted from CDC or FDA with a link, and each data page prints the week its figures run through.
Why it earned its spot
The page opens with a two-line question in heavy near-black sans on pale grey, then does what most health sites postpone: it drops the calculator straight in underneath — a segmented toggle, two date fields, one black button — with no hero image or preamble in between. Crimson appears only three times, in the kicker, in half the wordmark and as a rule beside the footer disclaimer, so nothing competes with the form. Below it a four-cell strip sets the week’s figures at display size over a monospace line naming the data’s vintage, subordinate but still readable. One column, left-aligned, no decoration.
