TaxFreeDates tracks every US state sales tax holiday — the dates, the price caps, and which items actually qualify. Every entry is hand-checked against the state's own revenue announcement, and when a state hasn't posted next year's dates it says so rather than guessing.
Why it earned its spot
The homepage answers its own headline question before any scrolling: a monospace ticker of state abbreviations and date windows runs directly under the nav, with the two live holidays flagged in green. Below it the calendar is a stack of hairline-ruled entries where the date is the largest thing on the row, statute detail dropped to small monospace beneath it and countdowns set right in the margin — agate treatment for what is essentially a schedule. Color appears only for status, so ‘TAX-FREE NOW’ reads from across the room. The full state index sits well down the page, since most visitors already know which state they need.
