U.S. Graphics Company
U.S. Graphics Company is Neil Panchal's one-person design office and type foundry, home of Berkeley Mono — a typeface sold as precision tooling for engineers. Its design philosophy is published right on the homepage as a table: dense not sparse, flat not hierarchical, don't infantilize users.
Why it earned its spot
The site practices every line of the philosophy it prints: boxed navigation, dotted rules, CMYK registration bars across the masthead, a version number stamped in the footer like a build artifact. It reads as an engineering document because it is one — even the “new release” flash is a spec-sheet callout, and the project grid presents logotypes like plates in a standards manual. Brutalism with a ruler, aligned to the pixel, and the strongest possible proof that density can be a form of respect.
