PIXIESET
Pixieset is a platform where professional photographers deliver client galleries, sell prints and run their bookings and websites. Phoebe Jiang and Simon Wong started it in Vancouver in 2013 because gallery tools then were either too technical or not good-looking, and the company ran without outside funding for its first eight years.
Why it earned its spot
The page keeps its own look quiet so customers’ photographs do the selling. It opens on a dark hero and then moves to wide white space, with a small spaced-out wordmark, plain sans-serif headings and a single teal accent for buttons and small overline labels. Product sections sit on pale grey cards arranged in an uneven grid, and each card shows a real gallery, storefront or editing screen instead of an icon. Further down, a list of genres (Wedding, Portrait, Family) swaps the sample site beside it, which quietly tells each photographer that the product is built for their kind of work.
