Lesson Six
Lesson Six is a career site for people trying to get hired in tech without a target-school degree or a FAANG résumé. Its pay figures come from 189,389 H-1B wage filings held by the US Department of Labor, not the self-reported numbers most comparison sites run on.
Why it earned its spot
The homepage runs on a single editorial device: a high-contrast display serif that slips into italic for the phrase being emphasized, set black on near-white with deep forest green doing all the structural work. Full-bleed green panels break the page into chapters, each anchored by an enormous numeral — the ‘6’ appears twice, once as a thesis and once as a closing argument — while the author card carries a lone italic ‘M’ like a bookplate. Between them the lesson grid stays plain: photo, category eyebrow, headline, a byline chip with a face. For readers being sold to constantly by bootcamps, that restraint reads as credibility.
